Tips for a Better Scan

Give Smart Scan a clear document to work with.

Use good lighting and avoid glare. Keep the entire document visible, avoid cutting off corners, numbers, or dates, and make sure the image is not blurry. When possible, use the original digital PDF rather than a screenshot of a PDF.

If Smart Scan Can’t Read Your Document

If a document is not recognized, check that the file is supported and readable. For photos, try again with better lighting and positioning. For PDFs, make sure the file is not corrupted, password-protected, or unreadable.
